Senior Sales & Account Manager
Rock Springs Ranch
The Kansas 4-H Foundation is looking for a results-driven sales and marketing professional with strong communication skills and a proven track record in Sales, Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or Recreation Management.
The Senior Sales & Account Manager will oversee sales, recruitment, contracting, and guest retention at Rock Springs Ranch, while also participating in the Manager on Duty team at Rock Springs Ranch. Responsibilities include generating new business, managing accounts, cold calling, attending events, and collaborating with the Executive Director and Director of Communications and Public Relations on sales strategies and marketing materials. The position requires excellent time management and communication skills, and may also involve cross-marketing for summer camp recruitment. (Percentages are only estimations and may vary depending on season and workload)
The Kansas 4-H Foundation is the 501(c)(3) fundraising arm for Kansas 4-H, the state’s largest positive youth development program, as well as Rock Springs Ranch, the state 4-H camp and conference center. The Foundation works with businesses, organizations, individuals and families who share a common desire to support a statewide effort of growing future leaders. Rock Springs Ranch is a 735-acre property located in the heart of the flint hills just 10 miles south of Junction City, Kansas, and is accredited by the American Camp Association.
Client Acquisition & Retention
Collaboration with the Executive Director, Director of Communications & Public Relations, and department heads in designing and implementing sales strategies to maintain high occupancy and profitability
Analyze market and industry data and use it to develop methods for meeting financial targets, utilizing existing marketing plan, and creating an annual sales forecast
Solicit new guests with targeted outbound sales initiatives, such as personal calls to your network, phone solicitations to local professionals & organizations, 4-H community, and other groups that will generate new revenue
Develop knowledge of RSR services and ability to successfully connect to potential visitors.
Create compelling message to generate interest and secure contractual relationships
Make cold calls to leads or take calls from prospective guests while documenting engagement and contracts
Collaborate with the Rock Springs Ranch team to develop standard operating procedures that deliver consistent, quality service by the rotating Manager on Duty
Develop Standard operating procedures for group communications & client acquisition
Shared responsibility for increasing awareness of Rock Springs Ranch in the statewide community
Source, attend, and/or represent Rock Springs Ranch at community or industry events
Steward existing accounts after departure for retention and quality improvement
Scheduling & Group Coordination
Schedule, contract, and track retreat and conference events for Rock Springs Ranch to ensure they are well planned and managed
Develop and maintain leading practices for department sales/engagement, group/guest hosting, facilitation, & retention
Communicate with responsible departments concerning group details
Answer telephone and respond to calls from guests and potential guests
Maintains database of group/guest information
Tour prospective guests
Prepare for guest arrival as needed
Participate in MOD (Manager on Duty) hosting scheduling as needed in order to maintain awareness of experience and processes
Administration
Attend and actively participate in weekly VIRTUAL Director Team meeting to BOOKINGS/ coordinate with all departments
Manage departmental revenue goals
Participate in necessary activities such as Ropes Course, ACA, 4-H, etc for the purpose of understanding offerings, capabilities, and value propositions
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Hospitality, Marketing, Recreation Management or 3 to 5 years experience in a related field
Proficiency in Google applications such as drive, docs, sheets, & email and ability to learn a new CRM
Must possess a current driver’s license and have/maintain a good driving record
Successful completion of criminal background check
Qualifications
Must reside within the state of Kansas or willing relocate to the state of Kansas
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple projects concurrently, prioritize own workload, and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to work effectively under periodically stressful and difficult customer service conditions
Professional, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation
Based salary of $55,000 to $65,000 annually
